Silver Crescent Academy Children Center follows the emergent curriculum approach which builds upon the interest of the children. Interests which emerge within the group can become adventures, exploration, discussion, and discoveries such as shadows, bubbles, bugs etc.
The topics for the study are captured and observed from the children’s talk through community and/or family events, currents world events.
Young learners, the facilitators and families are all involved in determining the possible direction of a project, the materials needed and community support and involvement.
We cater to the development of the ‘whole’ child.
Physical
Developing control over the body, including physical abilities and coordination.
Social
Developing the process of gaining knowledge and skills needed to interact with others successfully.
Emotional
Developing an understanding to one’s own emotions and feelings in response to events, and appropriate ways of expressing them.
Cognitive
Developing Learning and use of language; the ability to reason, problem-solve, and organize ideas.
Spiritual
Developing the understanding to distinguish between right and wrong, and the conscience.
